D. F. First Testimony

Jason, first, thank you for being such a fine instructor. I feel such pride when I leave your gym because somehow, you encourage me to do exercises that I seriously did not think I was capable of doing. You are gifted. Your down-to-earth demeanor and sense of humor are bonuses -- frosting on the cake. You are able to get across to me how to perform these feats, but your attitude is what pushes me. You know when to dole out praise and get that extra energy to come to the surface. Thank you for encouraging me and being more than I could hope for in a trainer.

D. F.'s Second Testimony

At the conclusion of my 12-week Transformation Program with Jason Smith, I am down two full clothing sizes!   I was also surprised at the office recently when I practically walked out of a pair of shoes.   Out of the blue, my feet were even smaller!   My 59th birthday is next month and I recall the years I decided I would get in shape for my next birthday and failed.  This year, I have done it, with Jason's help.   I have lost 30 pounds in 12 weeks!

In November 2009, I discovered Jason Smith Fitness on my way to work one morning.   I figured I had nothing to lose by talking with him about weight loss.   I immediately felt comfortable talking with Jason about my challenges and hopes.  He seemed genuine.   He reviewed all the training options with me in a professional, caring manner, including the 12-week Body Transformation Program.   The 12-week program caught my attention big-time because it meant pretty immediate gratification and I was at the end of my rope with my weight issue.

When I homed in on the 12-week program, Jason explained what the commitment would entail.   He told me if I did not follow through after starting the transformation program, I would feel like a failure and he would, too, so he didn't want my money unless I planned on completing the program.  He said that gently and from the heart.   I liked his style.   I signed up for the 12-week transformation program that day.  I can't believe how fast the time passed!  It's been life-changing.  It was hard work both during the sessions and working out regularly on my

own.  Only good things have come from it.  I never once felt any hesitation about completing the program because Jason kept me focused, inspired, and informed.   Jason has never been impatient with me despite my limitations (and my not being the least coordinated, ha).  He's been consistently full of praise, with a take-charge demeanor, which is an awesome combination of traits for a trainer.   He's made me feel capable and proud of myself.   His expectations have always been reasonable.   There were a few times when specific exercises created some discomfort for me right out of the gate and rather than prodding me along, he promptly and considerately changed them up to something entirely different and never revisited them.  It's safe to say Jason watched out for me and my health during this process.   He always listened to my concerns along the way.  He never short-changed me and, in fact, gets every minute of training in possible during the sessions.   In my opinion, he strives to give you more than your money's worth.

Jason is an utmost professional and has a heart of gold.   While being kind-hearted might not be a necessity for a trainer, it made all the difference in the world how I responded to his training.   You can't help but respect him because of the way he runs his business.   He brings to the sessions strength and the highest level of confidence, mixed with compassion and a wealth of knowledge.

Each and every session, Jason wrapped up his previous client's session and was right on time for mine.   He never let me wait once, nor did he let the client after me wait.  He clips along reliably.  I have a very busy schedule and was impressed by how he honors his appointments.  If the phone rang, it went to the answering service.   His focus on me was 100% during each session and never once did I feel he was not concentrating on my training and my well-being.

I was fearful of my limitiations from the start.   Jason never expected more than I could give and he always automatically demonstrated each exercise before I did it.  That made me feel good because I never needed to feel embarrassed if I couldn't remember something.  Jason was always respectful and the frosting on the cake was his sense of humor.   I was working very hard during the program, so the humor was a breath of fresh air.

When he first told me our sessions would be 30 minutes, I was shocked because I expected them to be one hour.   Wow.   After my first session, I realized the 30 minutes was right on target.   He encouraged me to buy a heart-rate monitor and I wore the watch to track the calories I burned and that made the experience real.   Now, I don't go into any gym without my heart-rate monitor.  Watching those calories climb keeps me moving.

Nutritionally, Jason's ongoing advice has been invaluable.   He's been the best resource I could ever ask for.   He taught me to, "eat to live, not live to eat".   When he introduced me to that saying, it hit home.  He's just full of bits of wisdom.

During the 12 weeks, I logged daily per Jason's request.   I added extensive notes to the form.   If I did something I was proud of, I would write it down.   Alternatively, if I did something not so great, I'd write that, too.   It made me think, think, think.

It is my intention to continue weekly sessions with Jason now that I have concluded the program.   Of course, I will also continue my own gym work-outs.  I have a little ways to go before I am at my final goal, but I cannot fathom getting this far, this fast, on my own.   I didn't feel like I had a fighting chance in November and Jason proved me wrong.   By the way, my favorite piece of equipment is the punching bag!

Thank you, Jason Smith!
